TIMELESS CLASSIC "EVERLASTING LOVE" TAKES NEW MUSICAL DIRECTION WITH VOCAL PERFORMANCE BY BROOKS FORSYTH Multi-Genre Americana Blend Targets Widespread Audience Available Via Digital Retail And Streaming Platforms Friday, June 10, 2022
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville Producer and hit songwriter, Buzz Cason, is pleased to announce the re-recording and release of the timeless tune, “Everlasting Love,”* (ArenA Records) due Friday, June 10, 2022 via all digital retail and streaming platforms. (Presale/Pre-save event begins May 27, 2022.) Written by Cason and Mac Gayden, the new rendition spotlights a special vocal performance by Americana singer/songwriter Brooks Forsyth of Boone, NC. First introduced in 1967, the tune became a Top 40 hit for Robert Knight (Rising Sons), and has since been re-recorded numerous times over with four different versions charting in the United States and seven renditions in the UK (most successfully by Love Affair at No. 1 in the UK, Town Criers, Carl Carlton, U2, Narvel Felts, Gloria Estefan and many others). Catering to music enthusiasts in a variety of genres across the globe (Motown, adult contemporary and pop), “Everlasting Love” is one of two songs in American history to become a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart over four consecutive decades in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. (The other being “The Way You Do The Things You Do.”) The Carl Carlton version landed at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart (1974), while Jamie Dornan's performance of the standard is a memorable moment in Sir Kenneth Branagh's multi-Oscar nominated movie “Belfast” (2021). The song has been played more than 10 million times collectively (all recordings) as reported by BMI. Blending elements of rock and pop with organic Americana sounds, the 2022 release features fiddle and banjo highlights, supported by groovin’ electric guitar. Tipping his hat to the award-winning entertainers who recorded the track before him, Forsyth’s easy-does-it, conversational alto vocals enliven the composition to revive the tune as a unique all-time classic. Recorded at Creative Workshop Studios in Nashville, the idea spawned during the recording session of Forsyth’s second album. “Buzz told me about a festival he had just played with Billy Swan in Canada. They closed the show with 'Everlasting Love' and the crowd’s response was overwhelming,” said Forsyth. “That was reinforcement to me as to how timeless the song is, and inspired me to record it. I made a demo and sent it to Buzz, and he approved the idea. I’m honored to be part of the history, and future, of this classic hit.” “Brooks’ performance is fitting to rejuvenate a fond musical moment in time for fans and will transcend to open the door to a new audience of listeners as a must-add to their playlists,” added co-producer Buzz Cason. The “Everlasting Love” music video is being positioned for a broadcast premiere; AristoMedia is spearheading the video promotion campaign. Ed Gertler/Digital Streaming Services will oversee the digital retail and streaming distribution. “Everlasting Love” (ArenA Records) Release Date: June 10, 2022 Written by Buzz Cason and Mac Gayden Produced by Buzz Cason and Parker Cason Vocal Performance by Brooks Forsyth Distributed by Ed Gertler/Digital Streaming Services Co. # # # ABOUT BROOKS FORSYTH Hailing from Boone, North Carolina, Brooks Forsyth is a new class of Americana singer-songwriter that embraces a variety of genres from folk, country blues, bluegrass and roots rock.
