12-song project due Friday, January 22, 2021 via digital retail & streaming outlets
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Veteran country music entertainer and decorated songwriter, Jamie Richards (Okie Ranch Music) is set to release his latest recording project titled THE REAL DEAL.* The12-song CD, and Richards’ seventh studio recording, will be available via all digital retail and streaming outlets (Amazon/iTunes/Pandora Spotify/Tidal) on Friday, January 22, 2021 (AVAILABLE NOW via the Amazon and iTunes Pre-sale Event).
The lyrically driven songbook, as characteristic of the Oklahoma native’s signature, features original tunes and co-writes that carry the torch for legendary song crafters (Merle Haggard/Willie Nelson/Waylon Jennings) and vocal stylists (George Strait/Mark Chesnutt).
Boasting traditional country ballads, two-steps, shuffles and toe-tappers, THE REAL DEAL production beams with western vintage acoustic and electric guitar, pedal steel and fiddle spotlighting instrumental performances by his touring band, and a special appearance by the multi-talented, Milo Deering (Garth Brooks/The Eagles/LeAnn Rimes), who plays acoustic, pedal steel and fiddle throughout. Making formal introductions to the project with the drop of “I Want To With You” (written by Steve Bogard and Jeff Stevens), the lead single is fast approaching the No. 1 seat on the Texas Music Charts (Rick Hogan Promotion). Richards originally recorded the song more than 20 years ago; the quintessential tune resurfaced to make the grade for inclusion on THE REAL DEAL with the original track rejuvenated by Richards’ classic vocal performance.
Following suit in Richards’ authenticity, electric guitar dances in perfect time with pedal steel in “Loose Loud And Crazy” to swing worries away with a long neck in one hand and a honky-tonk babe in the other. Fiddle and angelic harmonies walk arm-in-arm in the ballad “Seeing Me Like This,” a love song about a road warrior, his dream and the place where his two passions meet; “Lakeview Grocery Store” spins the tale of a true-to-life recollection of Richards’ childhood walks to and from the hometown five-and-dime store; while innocence disintegrates in the cold light of a broken soul as “Playing Hard To Forget” speaks to the emotion of a heart shattered. David Ball makes a vocal appearance on “Deep In Your Bones;” while Tommy Alverson costars on “Great Minds Drink Alike.”
“I love lyrics and I take pride in writing songs with a storyline that seems like a movie screenplay; listeners can almost see it,” said Jamie Richards. “We didn’t stray from tradition or my style; the project is straight-forward country. I guess that’s why the title (THE REAL DEAL) is so fitting.”Ed Gertler, Digital Retail Services will oversee the digital retail distribution and streaming services; THE REAL DEAL CD is AVAILABLE NOW via the Pre-sale Event.
