Following a long silence with the media concerning the Kanye West debacle at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift spoke with Matt Lauer on NBC’s People of the Year special. “It just all happened really fast…and it took a second to realize what was really going on. I was really confused, because the crowd started booing and I didn’t know why. I’ve never been on a stage with the entire crowd booing before. So I was just devastated…because I thought I’d done something wrong.” Swift also commented on her surprise at the support she received after the incident from other artists through Twitter.

It seems as though she really hasn’t done much wrong this past year, sweeping up 27 winnings at various awards shows like the American Music Awards and the Country Music Association Awards. Hoping to continue with the branding success of her lines of sundresses, jeans, and guitars, Swift may be creating her own line of perfume. In revealing this to InStyle magazine, she stated “I’ve loved perfume since I was little, and when I’m in a store it’s the first thing I gravitate to. The process might be so much fun. I’d name it something based upon one of my songs!”
The fragrance in her purse until the line is complete? Givenchy Hot Couture.
